For many years, The Church of St. Andrew and St. Margaret of Scotland in Del Ray, Alexandria has held a special event that welcomes the community and their animal friends. With love and pride, parishioners and members of the community alike bring forth their pets—furry, feathered, and scaled— for a special blessing.
The Blessing of the Animals is held in early October, near the birthday of St. Francis of Assisi. This year, there will be a special emphasis on animals for adoption. We hope that their blessing will bring them a lifetime of kindness and love!
